2014 IWWF Barefoot Athletes of the Year announced!
Keith St. Onge (USA) & Ashleigh Stebbeings (AUS) have been named as the 2014 Male and Female IWWF Barefoot Athletes of the Year! This award is based solely on performances in IWWF homologated tournaments during the 2014 year.

Keith St. Onge had a history making World Championships where he took the gold medal in both slalom and jump. This was Keith?s 7th World Title in the slalom event making him the winningest athlete in a single event ever. However, it was the jump gold medal that launched Keith into the company of just three other individuals that have achieved a World Title in all events and the overall. Legends and pioneers all of them; Brett Wing (AUS), Mike Seipel (USA), Ron Scarpa (USA) and now Keith St. Onge (USA) reside in barefoot history as masters of all and second to none. Many congratulations to Keith for this outstanding athletic achievement as well as respectful acknowledgement of his dedication to making this a reality.

Ashleigh Stebbeings left absolutely no doubt as to who the female athlete of the year was for 2014. At the 2014 World Championships she took three gold medals and a silver, however it is what happened along the way that defined her focus and athleticism. Ashleigh set a new World Record in slalom, in tricks and in jump, history making no doubt about it. During her record breaking mission she became the first woman to trick over the 10,000 point mark with a flawless run totaling 10,100 points. To top it all off Ashleigh was the anchor of the Australian Team that took ?Home? the Team Overall Gold Medal. Ashleigh has shown the world, and no doubt will again, that she is the best female barefoot water-skier of all time. A standing ovation for this record breaking year!

Keith & Ashleigh are now in the selection pool that will recognize the one female and one male from all IWWF disciplines as the IWWF Athlete of the Year.
