What got you into officiating?
I had been a skier enough years and as my passion started to grow I also started to see the sport needed more officials and wanted to help out and give back.
Why do you continue to officiate?
My passion for the sport, I hope I can be an ambassador for more skiers to follow suit and get into the official side at tournaments and do their part to help out wherever possible.
Who has inspired you in this sport?
My father (Robbie Groen) played a big factor in my role in the sport today and my passion for it. I have always looked up to Keith St. Onge and Pete O'Neill since I was a kid as far as who I wanted to be in the sport and what kind of skier on and off the water.
What skiers have you enjoyed watching and why?
I love watching all the young juniors go out there and hit PBs and goals, every milestone is a huge success for them and that's how it should be.
Do you have a nickname and how did you get it?
Not one that I know of, or any nice ones anway!
What other activities do you participate in?
Teaching and Instructing at the World Barefoot Center, along with the occasional disc golfing.
What is your motto?
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.
