Interview
  What got you into officiating?
Dave Kovak and Paul Roberts are to blame! I was lured into 3 event judging back around 1995 or 1996 and my computer skills with Video Jump measurement proved useful. The 3 eventers loaned my skills out to the barefooters and have regretted that loan ever since because I stayed with the barefooters!
Why do you continue to officiate?
Because of all the great people involved in barefooting.
Who has inspired you in this sport?
First, I consider "this sport" to be water skiing, not just barefooting. There have been many. I was inspired by a number of 3 event skiers like Bob Lapointe, Deena Brush (Mapple), Jaret Llewellyn. they fueled my interest in water skiing in general. In barefooting I have been fortunate to be around world class skiers as well as some of the best officials in the world who have guided me and been supportive and patient while I learned.
What skiers have you enjoyed watching and why?
While world class skiers are awesome to watch, I think I get the most enjoyment watching someone do something for the first time, whether its their first time footing or wakeboarding or skiing...
Do you have a nickname and how did you get it?
Lets see, TJ is the common nickname, Paul MacDonald calls me Dr Jones, and I seem to get called MacGyver a lot.
What other activities do you participate in?
I love downhill skiing, cycling, 3 event skiing, scuba diving, wakeboarding, fixing cars, electronic design... and computers!
  What is your motto?
just do it...
